It was a busy summer of 2004. In a span of 4 weekends, I went from racing solo in a 5-8 hour Adventure Race and was quite happy with my placement even though there was only one other solo girl…who finish 3 hrs after me :o)…6th place over all. Then onto the Figure Model Competition, which I had been training 8 months for, great incentive to lose some weigth, I think I went from 135 to 118 on competition day, which I finished in 3rd place. I proceeded to eat cookies for a week after and I was back to my old self. It was a great experience overall and I would do it again. BUT if any of you ladies are interested in trying a figure comp and want some insight please feel free to contact me.
Weekend following the competition we participated in the Rideau Lake Tours and the 2 weekends later my women’s MTN bike team competed in the 24hr Summer Solstic relay MTN bike race in Bolton,ON. Our team finished 3rd in the women’s category. Then mid July our Adventure Racing Team- Team CycleFit finished 3rd at Raid the North – Charlevoix, Quebec.

I originally to Ottawa 7 years ago. As a past competitive swimmer for 12 years, I continued training with the Ottawa Hammerheads swim team, but I soon developed a true passion for Mountain Biking and Snowboarding. During the summer I regularly ride in Kanata Lakes and Gatineau park, and compete in local races at Camp Fortune as well as some of the 24 hour events around Ontario. During the winter it is not unusual for me to get in over 30 days snowboarding at hills around Quebec and Northeastern United States. Spinning is a recent passion of mine. Turns out, I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to do more than just participate in the classes. So, it has been almost a year now since I taught my first class.
