Understanding the relationship between cadence, resistance and intensity is key to coaching classes that meet students' training goals. Using the NEW Spinning Computer co-developed by Mad Dogg Athletics and cycling expert Joe Friel, will become a powerful tool to assist CYCLEFIT instructors to design highly effective, goal-oriented classes, using heart rates, cadence and distance, that are grounded in the principles of cadence and heart rate training.Experience the NEW technology coming to our spin studio this Season.

SPINNING Computer FAQ
Why doesn't the Spinning Computer display speed?
Speed is not a relevant data point on a stationary bike and can create safety concerns. Stationary bikes are fixed gear cycles and therefore different than road or Mountain bikes. On a real bike, increased speed is achieved via gear changes at moderate cadence. However, on a fixed gear, weighted flywheel bike, it can be achieved with increased cadenace, and that compromises the safety of the rider and the quality of the class experience.
Why doesn't the Spinning Computer display watts?
Watts is a measure of power output, and while it can be valuable data for the advanced rider it provides little value to the average Spinning enthusiast. In addition, to ensure accuracy, watts measurements require an accurate measure of load that can be calibrated, and that is not a feature currently available on most group cycles. While products exist that will assist in the collection of watts on a Spinner bike they are not as cost effective and would significantly increase the price of the computer.
Is the display for calories expenditure accurate?
Caloric calculation is always more accurate with precise rider information. This would require user unput with precise rider information. This would require user input to determine gender, age and body weight before each ride. To keep the Spinning Computer simple and easy to use, the calories are based on specific metabolic data collected from over 50 Spinning enthusiasts. The exact expenditure is based on a male rider, 35 years old and 165 pounds. Caloric expenditure will be slightly lower for smaller riders and slightly higher for larger riders. Caloric calculations are based on rider heart rate-no caloric data will be displayed if the user does not wear a heart rate monitor strap.
